چکیده

Background Left ventricular hypertrophy in aortic stenosis (AS) is characterised by reduced myocardial perfusion reserve due to coronary microvascular dysfunction. However, it remains unclear whether the hypoperfusion seen in severe AS leads to myocardial tissue deoxygenation and thus, ischemia during stress. The aim of this study was to assess myocardial oxygenation and perfusion in patients with severe AS but no obstructive coronary artery disease before and after aortic valve replacement (AVR).

Myocardial perfusion and oxygenation are impaired during stress in severe aortic stenosis and correlate with impaired energetics and subclinical left ventricular dysfunction

BACKGROUND Left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy in aortic stenosis (AS) is characterized by reduced myocardial perfusion reserve due to coronary microvascular dysfunction. However, whether this hypoperfusion leads to tissue deoxygenation is unknown. We aimed to assess myocardial oxygenation in severe AS without obstructive coronary artery disease, and to investigate its association with myocardial...

Pre- and post-contrast T1 mapping for detection of myocardial fibrosis in severe aortic stenosis before and after aortic valve replacement

Background Severe aortic stenosis (AS) leads to diffuse fibrosis in the myocardium, which could cause poor clinical outcome. Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) with recently T1 mapping is a promising technique to identify diffuse myocardial fibrosis. The Objective of the present study was to assess myocardial fibrosis by CMR using T1 mapping in patients with surgical AS and evaluate the ev...

Myocardial extracellular volume fraction and myocardial fibrosis by cmr in patients with severe aortic stenosis

Background Severe aortic stenosis (AS) induces diffuse interstitial myocardial fibrosis (MF). CMR late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) technique is useful to detect focal MF. The amount of MF is associated with worse long-term prognosis after aortic valve replacement surgery (AVR). Measurements of T1 relaxation times before and after gadolinium administration allow determination of myocardial extr...

بررسی نتایج پیگیری یک ساله بالون والولوپلاستی تنگی مادرزادی دریچه آئورت در کودکان به مدت 10 سال در بیمارستان قلب شهید رجایی

Abstract Background: Balloon valvuloplasty uses for treatment of aortic stenosis from 20 years ago. Regarding loss of information about results of balloon valvuloplasty of hereditary aortic stenosis, this study was done to determine prognosis and complication of balloon valvuloplasty during last 10 years. Methods: This study was done on existing data of all children with hereditary aortic...

Left ventricular reverse remodeling after transcatheter aortic valve implantation: a cardiovascular magnetic resonance study

BACKGROUND In patients with severe aortic stenosis, left ventricular hypertrophy is associated with increased myocardial stiffness and dysfunction linked to cardiac morbidity and mortality. We aimed at systematically investigating the degree of left ventricular mass regression and changes in left ventricular function six months after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) by cardiovascu...
